This two-week unit focuses on global warming. You will listen, speak, write, and read about global warming as you practice English. The vocabulary lesson will increase your vocabulary by learning how to use the prefixes, -re and
-de to determine meanings of unknown words. Additionally, you will learn how to make suggestions and express the probability of an event happening by using modals.

A. What are Modal verbs? They are verbs that express ideas such as possibility, permission,
obligation and necessity. You will use modals when you write persuasive e texts and

3. Look at the word prefix. It is made up from two parts: pre and fix. Pre means before, and fix means attached. Pre is a syllable that is placed before the root which in this case is fix.
